This comprehensive guide walks you through every step of placing your first sports wager on the platform, from creating your account to collecting your winnings.
Getting Started with Your Habtam Bet Account
Before placing any bets, you need to register on the Habtam Bet platform. Visit the official website and locate the registration button, typically found in the upper right corner of the homepage. The registration process requires basic personal information including your full name, date of birth, phone number, and email address. Ethiopian bettors must be at least 18 years old to participate in online sports betting activities.
After completing the registration form, you will need to verify your account. This usually involves confirming your phone number through an SMS code or clicking a verification link sent to your email. Account verification ensures the security of your betting activities and compliance with local regulations.
Depositing Funds into Your Betting Account
With your account verified, the next step involves adding funds to your betting balance. Habtam Bet offers several deposit methods tailored to Ethiopian users, including mobile money services like Telebirr and CBE Birr, bank transfers from major Ethiopian banks, and other local payment solutions. Navigate to the deposit section, select your preferred payment method, enter the amount you wish to deposit in Ethiopian Birr, and follow the instructions to complete the transaction.
Most deposits process instantly, allowing you to start betting within minutes. Consider starting with a modest amount as you learn how the platform works and develop your betting strategy.
Navigating the Sports Betting Interface
The Habtam Bet sports section displays various sporting events available for wagering. Football remains the most popular choice among Ethiopian bettors, featuring both international leagues and local competitions. You will also find options for basketball, tennis, athletics, and other sports depending on current events and seasons.
Each sporting event shows the competing teams or participants along with the available betting markets. Common bet types include match winner, over/under goals, correct score, and handicap betting. The odds displayed next to each selection indicate the potential return on your wager.
Placing Your First Bet Step by Step
Select a sporting event that interests you by clicking on it to view all available markets. Review the different betting options and their corresponding odds carefully. When you find a selection you want to bet on, click on the odds to add it to your bet slip.
Your bet slip appears on the right side of the screen or in a dedicated section on mobile devices. Enter the stake amount you wish to wager in the designated field. The potential winnings will calculate automatically based on your stake and the selected odds.
Before confirming, double-check all details including the event, your selection, stake amount, and potential payout. When satisfied, click the confirm or place bet button to submit your wager. A confirmation message will appear indicating your bet has been accepted.
Understanding Your Bet and Tracking Results
After placing your bet, you can monitor its progress in the My Bets or Bet History section of your account. Live events display real-time scores and updates, allowing you to follow the action as it unfolds. Once the event concludes, winning bets are settled automatically, and any winnings are credited to your account balance.
Responsible Betting Practices
As you begin your sports betting journey, remember to wager only what you can afford to lose. Set personal limits on deposits and bets, and view betting as entertainment rather than a source of income. Habtam Bet provides responsible gambling tools to help you maintain control over your betting activities.
